I started off by applying alot of purple to the orbital bone of the eye. I focused on dragging this colour along this area and used a stipple sponge to blend it out and used the same brush on the upper eyelid to get some bruising on the top of the eye. I kept adding more colour to the main area where i wanted the bruise to be but also blended the colour out so the bruising was further around the eye, but not as dark. I aged the bruise by adding some yellow tones on the eyelid and below the eye and also along the nose, to show how the bruise has spread. I then blended the yellow into the purple and red. I also put the purple tones in the corner of the eye and down the side of the cheek bone but again mainly putting the colour where the eye bags would be. I added little dabs of colour around the eye to show broken capillary dots, also across the nose.
