Practical
In this lesson we learnt how to create a simple late Victorian hairstyle using heated hair rollers. I had to practice on a Katy head because there were an odd number in our class. The first step was the separate the hair into sections. I created a clean middle parting and separated each side into four sections. I rolled two across the head and the other two down the side of the face. I pinned the rollers in so they would cool and stay in the curls. I then moved onto the back. I separated a section at the crown of the head and tied it into a pony tail, followed by putting the lower section in a pony tail but leaving a thin layer of hair at the bottom loose. I then used a curling wand to curl both the pony tails and the loose hair. Once curled - I then pinned all of the curls into the centre of the head at the back to look like a long pony tail, whilst covering the hair bands. I took out the rollers which left the hair in tight curls. The curls at the side I pulled back and pinned into the pony tail at the back, whilst the ones at the front i brushed together and pinned them back creating two slight quiffs at the front to give it a Victorian look. I am very happy with how my look turned out and would love to try this on real human hair in the future.
