Hypodermic Sally: I have chosen to link Mrs Laderman to Hypodermic Sally. Herself and Claudia, morph into their favourite characters and Mrs Laderman's is Sally. Sally is a ghost junkie, who is always seen with; crying eyes, a lot of makeup smudged all over her face, frizzy hair, wearing leopard print, a choker, ripped tights, red lips and very dark contoured cheek bones. I think Mrs Laderman would match this character well.
Elizabeth (The Countess): The countess is a very powerful woman who lives on an unhealthy diet of sex and blood. She lures in her victims with her 'sex appeal', sleeps with them then kills them and drinks their blood. She is very pale, has no eyebrows and wears very nude make-up apart from her bright red lips. She is very rich and this is shown through the clothing she wears. She is commonly seen with a lot of fur or jewellery on her. She is very Victorian looking as most of her outfits are very out their and vintage. This is why I have included images of rich Victorian women in the bottom left hand corner.
I have included a few quotes:
1. "You look like you need a drink" - said by Mr March, who is the hotel owner, handing a character a glass of blood. This relates well to the vampire idea.
2. "Infidelity, Sanity, Oppression, Discrimination, Addiction" - These words are used to explain events and feeling that happen through out American Horror Story and these words I want to link to my character profiles.
3. "She was drowning but nobody saw her struggle" - This relates to how Claudia is an agoraphobe and struggles to socialise with the outside word so therefore nobody sees her struggles.
Vampires: I have shown a lot of relation to vampires as the main storyline of AHS - hotel, is about the Countess and the love of blood throughout the series. I want to incorporate blood in some way in my final designs.
Drugs: Sally is a drug addict and because Mrs Laderman is taking on her role, she too becomes a drug addict. I want to make Laderman look like a drug user, by giving her sunken in features and dark, smudged makeup.
Masks: I have included a mask like image because I feel like my chosen characters are trying to mask their real identities by morphing characters of the horror film or series they're watching.
