HOW IT WENT
I was relatively happy with how the second assessment went. The only things that didn't go to plan included the hair and the camera settings. Unlike the first assessment the hair was extremely difficult to do. I don't know why but the hair was not going exactly the same. My model has naturally wavy hair, so trying to place the waves in different places seemed to be alot harder this time. The hair also felt longer for some reason and more difficult to create a small quiff with. However, I tried my best to get it as similar as possible. The makeup went really well and the face itself looked exactly the same as before, even if the exposure of the images are different. The lips once again went very well and i was most happy with them. The splodges of blood on the cheeks didn't look exactly the same but I expected that. The camera settings looked similar to the printed out pictures I had, but similarly to last time, once I got them on screen they were completely different. This time they looked too underexposed and didn't show the wrinkles and contour as well as the first images.
If I were to change anything with this assessment, I would not have included the blood on the cheeks and maybe would have focused on making the lips more of the focus of this assessment. For example, maybe making them bleed a lot more, maybe dripping down the chin.
CONTINUITY NOTES
- Prime entire face and neck using Illamasqua satin primer
- Mix Kryolan ivory foundation with moisturiser and a slight darker tone to make the model look paler than he is
- Contour using a dark foundation from the Kryolan foundation palette and moisturiser to make it more creamy and apply by dabbing the brush where the contour should be. Aim to create defined cheek bones and wrinkles on forehead and around eyes.
- Blend in with a Zoeva face shape brush
- Bronze using the Illamasqua sculp palette and a kryolan powder brush
- Apply purple, red, blue and yellow supracolour around eyes to make model look tired and worn out. Apply by dabbing small amounts and then blending it in
- Red liner blended in corner of nose to make him look ill
- Apply translucent powder everywhere to keep everything in place.
- Backcomb the eyebrows using a mascara wand
- Apply small amounts of eyelash glue to the lips, wait for it to dry and become clear, then ask model to rub lips together so the glue creates a dry, cracked look
- Apply fake blood, and red and black supracolour
- Comb hair and separate into side parting
- Wet hair using water and keep it in place with lots of hairspray
- Use hairspray to create a quiff at side
- Pull down curl in the centre of the forehead and hairspray
- Add splashed of blood to the side of the cheek to link back to how Hyde was a murderer.
